The incumbent services as an Anesthesiologist under the immediate supervision of the Chief of Anesthesia and the Chief of Surgery within the Department of Surgery. He/she will maintain licensure and credentials sufficient to extend to the incumbent the authority to practice Anesthesiology inclusive of all diagnostic and medical therapeutic modalities for the treatment of diseases, conditions and injuries related to the field of Anesthesia. Duties include, but not limited to: Provide comprehensive anesthesia services as well as follow-up care of existing conditions and management of emergency conditions. Provide Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Anesthesia Services, including hospital rounds, for surgical patients. Supervision of CRNA's in the administration of anesthesia for surgical cases and be capable of providing any needed anesthesia consultation. Document services through appropriate, note, such as History and Physical, Anesthesia consultation notes. Be available for back up call for consultation as needed. Participate in clinical research protocols either developed locally in cooperation with other faculty or developed at other institutions for multi-center studies. Supervise CRNA Students, Residents or Physician Assistants. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 10 paid Federal holidays per year. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years' vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).Incentives: Possible signing bonus, relocation assistance, and student loan repayment up to $120K for eligible debt. Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME: Possible $1,000 per year stipend + possible 1 week paid authorized absence to attend. Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
