The incumbent will be responsible for the direct supervision of the specialty care physicians in Green Bay, along with the clinical oversight of the specialty care Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants in Green Bay. This includes providers in multiple medicine subspecialties and multiple surgical subspecialties. While the incumbent will be located on site in Green Bay, he/she will also work closely with the respective specialty care Section Chiefs at the Milwaukee VA to ensure the continuity and quality of the clinical services. The incumbent will also work closely with the other leadership members in Green Bay and across NEWAC to develop best practices and processes for the provision of Specialty Care services for NEWAC patients. Candidates with a proven track record in leadership, success in managing clinical outcomes, and a high interest in health care administration are encouraged to apply. Prior supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. VA or other federal healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Our community-based outpatient clinics offer a broad spectrum of Primary Care, Women's Health, Mental Health, Podiatry, Eye Care, and medical/surgical subspecialty care. These services are in addition to the full spectrum of comprehensive health care at the main facility in Milwaukee, WI. The incumbent will serve as an effective leader and Program Manager to oversee the Specialty Care provider team at our Clinical-based Outpatient Clinics(CBOCs). The Physician/Program Manager will be responsible for oversight with duties to include supervising physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers as deemed necessary. The incumbent may participate in meetings with the Zablocki VA Medical Center leadership in Milwaukee, WI. Ability to travel within VISN12 and, on occasion, nationally is required.
