Overview

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.

FMH Hospice Mission:

Hospice provides support to patients at the end of life (and their families) in their home setting.

Hospice CNA care typically consists of assistance with activities of daily living, as well as providing support and comfort. Our CNA's are part of an interdisciplinary care team consisting of RN's, social workers, chaplain, volunteers, and medical director.

FMH Hospice has the following CNA position available:

Full-Time - 40 hours per week -Day Shift / Flexible Scheduling / 8 or 10 hr days (includes some weekends and holidays)

The starting wage for this position is $20/hr.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Current BLS certification. Current C.N.A. license in state of practice may be required in certain facilities and/or departments in accordance with regulatory requirements or facility/department policy. Depending on department assignment, completion of unit approved basic electrocardiogram or electroencephalographic interpretation course or on the job training and a minimum passing score of 85% on ECG or EEG test, with accurate identification of all lethal cardiac dysrhythmias or epileptiform activity.

Requires skills and abilities typically attained with 1 year of medical clerical experience; preferably in a hospital or physician office setting, or prior experience in customer service. Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as effective human relations and communication skills. Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy and keyboarding skills is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Recent healthcare experience preferred. Successful completion of an approved unit secretary program is preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
